Parking for over 600 cars and buses was provided along with access and service roads.

The site, which was adjacent to a large marina, was originally reclaimed land behind the dock wall and had been used for warehousing and port facilities.

As part of the attraction an old fishing trawler was lifted onto the site. The trawler required special props and foundations in order to allow continuing maintenance of the timber hull which is subject to shrinkage whilst out of the water.
