The client required a new dealership to expand the service and showroom space of his existing premises. A prime site was obtained and a prestige showroom and workshop area was designed to suit the client retailing requirements.

The ground conditions consisted of an old flood plain area and necessitated ground improvement by Vibro-compaction techniques under the building.

The spatial requirements of the building required clear spans in both the showroom and workshop areas as well as ground and first floor office accommodation.

Two striking features of the building are the 'drum' to the showroom entrance and a large balcony projecting into the showroom space with no apparent vertical support.
